I am wrapping up my PhD (defended as of 5/18/26!) in the Department of Risk and Insurance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Wisconsin School of Business. I am also a Graduate Research Fellow at the Institute for Research on Poverty. This summer, I will transition to Temple University in the Fox School of Business as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in their Department of Risk, Actuarial Science, Healthcare Management, and Legal Studies.
My research interests are tied to applied topics in insurance and public economics. Specifically, I am interested in social insurance (especially Social Security and workers' compensation), longevity risk management, health insurance, household finance, public policy, and poverty.
Prior to joining UW-Madison, I completed my undergraduate work in Risk Management and Insurance (employee benefits, economics) at Temple University's Fox School of Business in May 2020.
I am a former Merton C. Bernstein Intern on Social Insurance at the National Academy of Social Insurance, where I worked with the Congressional Research Service. Currently, I am an Income Security Policy Consultant and Associate Member at the Academy. I was also a Summer Fellow in the U.S. Department of Labor's Chief Evaluation Office in 2024.
I earned my Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation in 2020, which is offered through the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
