Tyler Q. Welch, CEBS
I am in my third year as a doctoral student (dissertator, PhD Candidate) in the Department of Risk and Insurance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Wisconsin School of Business.
My research interests are tied to applied microeconomic topics in insurance, health, and decision-making under uncertainty. Specifically, I am interested in social insurance, longevity risk management, behavioral economics, health insurance, and public policy.
Prior to joining UW-Madison, I completed my undergraduate work in Risk Management and Insurance (employee benefits, economics) at Temple University's Fox School of Business in May 2020.
I am a former Merton C. Bernstein Intern on Social Insurance at the National Academy of Social Insurance, where I worked with the Congressional Research Service. I am an Associate Member at the Academy.
I earned my Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation in 2020, which is offered through the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
